Our friend Todd Glacy is returning to the Bangor and Ellsworth areas this weekend for a series of sacred song & gong meditation programs.
A Portland-based musician and kirtan leader, Glacy will present a Sacred Song & Gong Meditation Concert on Saturday, October 22 from 7-9 pm at The Green Gem Holistic Healing Oasis, 900 State St., Bangor.
The Green Gem is a nonprofit organization located at the Dr. William C. Peters house with a mission to “cultivate healthy lifestyles by providing easy access to diverse health practices, holistic learning opportunities and community involvement.”
Some people may be familiar with the term satsang, a Sanskrit word that means “gathering together for the Truth.” According to Glacy, singing and meditating together are practices which can increase our experience of Truth—and wellness.
Glacy will lead participants on a musical journey to the heart of stillness through the singing and chanting of sacred songs followed by a gentle gong meditation to help quiet our mind and lead us back to the place of pure awareness where we can tune in to the Truth within us all. Suggested donation for the concert is $15.
The same day, Oct. 22, Glacy will offer a “sound bath” meditation at the Fall Equinox Healing Arts Fair at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer at 10:30 am. (This program is free with the $5 admission to the fair.)
